About Nostalgia Media

A Message from the Owner:

My name is Sarah Wagantall and I'm the owner and operator of Nostalgia Media.

My first real experience behind the camera and at an editing suite was in high school when my class was nominated to be the first of it's kind and launch the Page Virtual Classroom, what is now known as the Global Classroom. This was my first time behind the camera because I was more dramatically inclined to be in front of the camera!

After high school, I followed the dramatic route and received my diploma in Theatre Performance from Red Deer College. Two of the most interesting and challenging years of my young life! On a weekend vacation back home in Edmonton, I ran into an old friend who ran a summer camp. We somehow got on the topic of video editing and I told him about my experiences back in high school.

All at once I found myself working full time at Camp Caroline, filming and editing a 15-20 minute video for the kids every week. The learning curve was steep, but I drank up every opportunity. I discovered the joy of being behind the scenes. You can see samples of my work at Camp in the Gallery.

After two summers of working at camp, it was time to enter the “real world” and I ended up in the small border city of Lloydminster AB/SK. Some friends of mine who own a hunting outfit found out about my camp experience and offered me a job editing films for their hunter groups every week. They were so happy with my work that they hired me to do their promotional video. You can see samples of these videos in the Gallery also.

After that experience, I realized that this was something I could make a life out of.  I officially started “Nostalgia Media” and haven’t looked back!  Lately the “meat” of our business has come from wedding videography.  This is definitely a career highlight!  We find wedding videography to be an exciting and fulfilling avenue of work.  Each project captures the unique heart of the couple in a special way.  You can find samples of our wedding work in the Gallery.
